ALBANY -- Amy Fisher, who at 16 was arrested in an attack on her lover's wife, was granted parole after nearly seven years in prison, the Associated Press has learned.

A state official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said Wednesday that the three-member panel voted 2-1 to release Fisher. She is expected to be freed from the Albion Correctional Facility in western New York sometime next week.

Division of Parole spokesman Tom Grant could not be reached for comment. Grant had previously said that an announcement on the panel's decision was expected today.
